Branwen is a Digital Literacy Volunteer who started in July.
Branwen saw a post about volunteering, and was excited to see an opportunity that matched her skills. She happens to be a Research Librarian in Rome. “I taught information literacy for years and love working one-on-one with people.”
Beyond simply helping people, Branwen’s goal as a volunteer is to erase the stereotype that older people can’t use computers. Not only is any capable of learning to use computers, those skills are necessary today.
In addition to volunteering with LiteracyCNY, Branwen is on the board of the Rome Art Association and enjoys creating art and writing poetry. She is also active in LGBTQ+ activism in the community.
Branwen volunteers at Jervis Public Library in Rome.
